Copyright law is what protects them to a large extent. If you ban, people just move to the next crap app (like TikTok→RedNote).
A big reason why proprietary software dominates so much is because it's protected by the state.
Also, your ban will likely be circumvented by VPNs anyway unless you plan a China-like national firewall. I don’t think China is a good model for the whole Internet.
