Cheap wine aside, one important difference is that you own that 3L of wine to consume or share how you like. The flight isn't yours, and even while you're on it, so are 300 other people. Multiplication does wonders.

The question I'd ask is: if it costs "only" £10,000 (30x300 plus a few more expensive seats) to fly a re-usable plane for 1h, who's pocketing all that extra money over there in the US?
