You know, I miss my grandfathers. They were good men, who did the best they could given the era and times in which they were raised.
Both of them fought in WW2. One survived Normandy, and one was there when they liberated Dachau in 1945. These men hated fascism so much that Hogan's Heroes was banned at both their houses. They both expressed the feeling that to laugh at Nazis was to diminish the horror of what they were, and a disservice to the men who died fighting them.
I miss them terribly, but I'm glad they didn't live to see what America has become.
