Either implementation is fine and each has pros/cons. LND is more developed currently with more built on top of it- probably easier for new users for that reason.

But I would advise to stay away from umbrel for a running a node. Too many bugs and devs have shifted focus from BTC/LN to a catch all personal server- great piece of software, but far less than idea for running a node. Too much bloat leads to security issues and lots of bugs.
