I have historically put a ton of time into perfecting string presentation in Pantograph. A lot of data feeds are quite messy—stop names and trip headsigns in all caps is a big one, as is weird and unnecessary abbreviations being used.
Every time I add a new feed, I take a close look at relevant objects and add a bunch of rules specific to that feed to make it look as nice as possible.
Problem is, this is very difficult to maintain, and often introduces errors, especially for non-English words.
