This is a huge thing in England, taking your dogs everywhere. It's starting to seep in in a bit here too. I'm a dog lover but I'm not sure how kind it is to the dog to be forever dragged to people heavy places, and that's before you even get to how this affects people who aren't comfortable with this. I know my mum has childhood trauma relating to dogs and she would be incredibly uncomfortable sitting near one in a cafe or restaurant, to the extent where she'd have to move or leave. I wouldn't be happy about having my kids around a dog in a shop either...it's bad enough trying to get them to leave them alone in more appropriate places like the park where there's room and they are anticipated, but a shop with breakables and divided attentions...no way.
