the cost of storage has been historically going down. his reasoning just makes no sense. the backend software is actually a modified version of Mastodon and mastodon transcodes every video uploaded to ensure maximum compatibility which often shrinks filesizes dramatically. there's no way some people on gab have 100GB in uploads and if they do, there's no way he couldn't afford a couple dozen 20TB drives to deal with it. the whole thing is off
