Jeffy and TBH (npub1ee4…6twl) there is a lot of nuance to this as each church and corresponding denomination can be different on this.

Meaning, the more progressive denominations are going to consider it sooner than a more conservative one.

Now, generally speaking the church as a whole is usually about 5-10 years behind when it comes to technology adoption.

They are late majority at best and laggards at worse.

So, getting them to accept BTC or any other crypto as a donation is typically not going to go smooth as they similar don’t think that way.

There often needs to be stepping stones AND they pay their staff and bills in fiat…so there has to be clear off-ramp process for them.

This complicates their internal processes which depending on size of church and staff doing the finances etc, they will most likely opt for status quo.

Now, as a stepping stone you might try attaching (introducing BTC) to a capital campaign or other short duration fundraising campaign such as a missions trip or youth camp scholarships.

This way they can see it in action and develop the process on a small scale.

It also may be a thing of 1% of the members would use this option so it’s. It worth it to them.

Board and elders would need approve ongoing acceptance and so the best path would be to begin to Orange pull decisions makers and key people.

For example use the Microstrayegy and Bitcoin Standard use cases as proof.

The reality is you have to connect BTC to what they are passionate about or focused on as a congregation.

I’m willing to chat further if you want.
