The programming language that is used at the hardware level to operate virtually all computer numerical control (CNC) machines: 3D printers, drills, lathes, grinders, on and on -- is called "G-code" (currently RS-274D - ISO 6983). Its use continues to expand. Fun fact: It was introduced in 1958 -- just one year after FORTRAN. Pretty damned impressive.
