When I was involved in Dem primaries, the constant pushback was that while your lefty positions might make sense, we must focus on winning elections. You have to accommodate wealthy donors to get the money to run ads etc.

With Trump, we've seen that being an entertaining asshole can help you win elections. But it's not good for democracy. Dems won more by serving the wealthy but it wasn't good for most Americans.

Focus on a better electorate, not manipulating them. It has too many drawbacks.
