Have you got a recommendation for a WordPress events plugin for local community websites?

Requirements not totally clear, but something like:
- calender view
- recurring events
- free version is sufficient
- ideally exposes ical feed
- simple enough for tech averse people to use
- "sign up for events with custom fields" is probably bonus feature only
