I was always a little ambiguous on that line from Richard III:
"Now is the winter of our discontent"
Is that saying the discontent is coming to an end (Winter being a symbol of endings)?
Or does he just mean he's discontented, and Winter is a metaphor for generally being uncomfortable?
Or is it intentionally ambiguous?
It definitely sounds cool, but I never quite figured out what Shakespeare was doing there.
So I feel weird using it.
