So was there a data breach at Amazon? Last night their subreddit got flooded with thousands of people saying they recieved direct emails from them thanking them for buying gift cards, today news stories are following up on that. The strange thing is Amazon reps are telling customers different stories from: These aren't official emails (they are), an intern made a mistake, it was just an attempt to "test" users security, and there was a partial breach but data is safe.
Feels like the are hiding how bad it is.
