South Korean opposition parties submitted a motion to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol this morning, just hours after his failed attempt to impose martial law. Yoon declared emergency military rule on Tuesday night citing the threat of North Korea and “anti-state forces”, but backed down when MPs stormed the National Assembly and voted to have the measure repealed.
