A cold walk round Geneva this morning. I remembered it as a large open-air airport departure area: lots of improbably-priced watch shops, lingerie and fancy clothes. It’s still just like that, except now also full of moneyed women with puffed-up lips and heavy makeup and fur coats.
I bought a book at the fnac, except I didn’t understand the price (€0,01 on the price sticker with another sign saying “may not be sold”), but nor did the shop clerk who gave it to me for free. Win!
I tiptoe into a pub for a warming beer and some lunch (Croûte au fromage, ordered because I saw someone else getting it), but on the table next to me is a loud American woman with a voice like a chalkboard, talking about religious academia. Sigh. #travel #geneve #suisse
