Interesting my wife and I were in that region, amongst others, in March this year. I notice a picture of Merzouga underwater, I know exactly from where that picture was taken. Our guide told us drought is a big problem in Morocco and threatens agriculture. The reservoirs that feed the big cities i.e Marrakech, Fez, etc are at alarmingly low levels. Water restrictions have been introduced. Beautiful country, we will return.
