My wife (Romanian w/ law degree) says that they appealed this in 200 courts and only one accepted. Since his ruling, the supreme court of Romania (the normal one, not to be confused with the constitutional court which is the center of this drama) has immediately accepted to hear the appeal. So it's generally believed that the supreme court will rule with the constitutional court.

I generally believe that the EU is unlikely to last past 2030, and when it collapses, Romania is abandoned by The West and returns to eastern sphere of influence, as it was post-WW2.
