I'm all for unions, by the way. As an anarchist-leaning libertarian I can only be in favor of freedom of association. And if you want to tie your negotiating power to someone else's and bargain collectively, good for you. As long as there is no coercion against those who don't.
Consequently, I'm obviously against "unions" as we have them in most of Europe today, as State-run entities that do not support themselves by their own merits or, in many cases like in Spain, not even by the money their member pay (they are subsidize with taxes instead), and who enjoy special legal status, including the right (or a toleration of) to prevent those who want no part of their "collective bargaining" from working.
