Someone asked me about mangoes this morning, so I have been having a cuppa and reading about mangoes. Interestingly, as I was looking at mangoes, I could smell them, particularly the sweet scent of Indian mangoes like Alphonso.
There are many hundreds of mango varieties, perhaps even a thousand. Sweet, sweet-sour and sour. Red, yellow and green and everything in-between. Perhaps 500 of them are grown commercially in parts of the world.
