Yes DM's are encrypted.
I could log in to your account with your pubkey and see WHO you are dm'ing, but NOT WHAT you are dm'ing.
I can see everything you see in your account EXCEPT what you are dm'ing, and I cannot post a note or pic to your page.
(Know you probably know most of this, but just in case anyone reading wasn't clear)
