California Wildfire Footage 'Like the End of the World'

The wildfires in California are depleting natural and human resources, with recent satellite images capturing devastating scenes showing the scale of the disaster. The images taken by satellites show the spread of the fires in wide areas, including forests near Los Angeles. Under the sky covered in thick smoke, the scorched landscape in Malibu's famous coast appears desolate, with the fire tending to spread between rows of luxurious villas, but the scene is dramatically different as you approach Pacific Palisades, a wealthy neighborhood. In this neighborhood, which is being ravaged by a massive fire, there are numerous charred ruins, with streets filled with burned-out buildings. The main fire, one of many in the Los Angeles area, has already consumed around 7,700 hectares in Pacific Palisades and Malibu. Preliminary estimates indicate that 'thousands' of buildings have been destroyed, according to Christine Crowley, a spokesperson for the firefighting team, during a press conference on Thursday. Authorities have so far refused to confirm or deny reports of finding human remains in the fire zone twice. Crowley emphasized, 'We can confirm that the Pacific Palisades fire is one of the most destructive natural disasters in the history of Los Angeles.' Access to this area is largely restricted, even to residents who were evacuated on Tuesday. Journalists from Agence France-Presse were able to fly over the area by helicopter and witness the massive destruction. In some of the most desirable neighborhoods in Malibu, especially those favored by celebrities, only the skeletal remains of buildings that were once magnificent are left, indicating the extent of the damage. Some of these luxurious homes are valued in the millions, but they have been completely destroyed. Pacific Palisades, overlooking Malibu and its beachfront homes, appears desolate. Some homes have been spared, while some streets are completely devastated. However, as you approach the southern part of the neighborhood, it becomes clear that many of the beautiful homes have been reduced to rubble. Along the streets, there are only chimneys or charred tree trunks left, remnants of the once-luxurious homes. During a press conference on Thursday, Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman said that his visit to his sister's home in Pacific Palisades to survey the damage was 'like the end of the world.' Footage from space of California and Los Angeles wildfires has confirmed, 'I have never seen a disaster like this in our city since the 1990s when Los Angeles was hit by wildfires, floods, earthquakes, and riots.' Captain Albert Azouz, who has been flying over the area for nearly a decade, said, 'This is madness. All those homes have disappeared.'
