When our country began, metal coins were the norm. Each denomination was worth its weight in valuable metal. The silver dollar is still Constitutional money (supposedly) and it’s marked as containing 371.25 grains of fine silver. Gold was and still is the king of the hill
It’s time to get rid of the penny. Trump can do it, and after that he can get rid of the Federal Reserve for ruining our money in the first place.
