I’m *not* saying it’s pointless, but I also can’t remember a situation where government was influenced by what people wanted.

Does calling your representative or senator work? Does raising a stink on social media work? Where’s the data that it does? Have politicians ever remarked that these have changed their minds?

Protesting may similarly have little to no actual impact, which bothers me a lot. Property destruction and violence gets their attention but doesn’t seem to move the needle either.
