There are way to manage what you see and get. For example, if you don't want people commenting on your toots, then limit your audidence. Posting publically you are more likely to get people commenting.

Being nasty online is no excuse, and I have zero tollerance. I will restrict your account.

Also, be an ambassodor for you own instance. If I get too many from a single one I will block the domain.
