"content": "From what I remember, handmade ASCII lineart (at least in non-demoscene contexts) was made with the `. : \\` characters. Straight lines such as `| /` only worked on straight subjects like borders and architecture. However, you have the benefit of a much larger canvas than was available back in my ascii days, so character shape is not important. Maybe you could increase the line thickness and use Unicode block characters for a more readable, ANSI-esque result?",
