In public, listening to a couple kids drag a third who was not present. One says, “Okay, but I did feel sorry for them that one time the substitute teacher deadnamed them.”
Other: “Oh, yeah. They’re the worst, but there are limits. Don’t deadname them.”
They were dead serious. Kids can be both cruel and excellent at the same time. With encouragement the excellence will win out.
