Multi verse is actually not a crazy theory in quantum mechanics, the traditional theory is much more weird IMO.

With that said, it makes no sense to me that the fact quantum computation is so powerful is part of that debate.

Quantum computers can use a lot of really funky physics, it makes sense that you can bild things with funky physics that you can not build with regular physics.
