Nancy Gleason Photography on Nostr: Bald Eagle in lichen-covered branches over the Skagit River in western Washington. ...
Bald Eagle in lichen-covered branches over the Skagit River in western Washington. Eagles arrive from Alaska and Canada to gather along the middle reaches of this river every December and January to feed on chum salmon.
The best viewing spot I have used is the Howard Miller Steelhead County Park in Rockport. Best timing varies year to year, but mid-December to mid-January are nearly guaranteed to have eagles in the Rockport to Marblemount reach.
