it was always bizarre to me how people abroad revere police officers as some kind of protectors. here ever since the youngest days of my life i kind of knew they're not to be trusted. i saw people in russia and here getting jailed for liking the wrong posts on the internet, or writing songs that were too questioning of authority or religion, or even displaying queer flags. i got assaulted with a baton by a riot pig in astana during an unarmed protest. this is abuse.
