I'm the same. I avoid crowds like the plague (!) these days and I've always despised the polluting cruise industry.

I live just over the hill from Port Chalmers, a cruise ship port. While it's usually my local shopping village, I bypass the town during cruise season because the streets are filled with unmasked numpties.

As far as I can see, the only people who profit are a handful of tour operators and shops selling trinkets.

My threshold for over-tourism is low.
