Destination Unknown
I saw these three western cattle egrets (Bubulcus ibis) passing by in Texas last week.
"
The short, thick-necked Western Cattle Egret spends most of its time in fields rather than streams. It forages at the feet of grazing cattle, head bobbing with each step, or rides on their backs to pick at ticks. This stocky white heron has yellow plumes on its head and neck during breeding season. I purposely cropped this photo elongated horizontally. If I had the space, I could picture it on a wall. A gold-colored frame would do nicely, I think. Pixels frames to the picture not the other way around.
