I think the idea that America/the West cannot make arms in war time because it's been in peace time (not forgetting the wars in the Middle East of course but that was more of an occupation than a war and had no effect on the home front) is a textbook case of getting high off of our own supply about the collapse of the West. Every White man I know still has a job and goes to work and responds to incentives in the economy as always.
Also South Korea and Israel make a killing in the arms market and are more advanced than America's adversaries in terms of military equipment for an example.
