Nevermind how *unfair* that is, think about how *implausible* it is: if this is the way Google will work in the future, why wouldn't every publisher just *block Google's crawler*?
A third obvious objection: AI is bad. Not morally bad (though maybe morally bad, too!), but *technically* bad. It "hallucinates" nonsense answers, including dangerous nonsense. It's a supremely confident liar that can get you killed:
