Okay, but many people had lightning. I had many more lightning than USB-C, for example.
I’m not making a judgement call on the transition,but I think it is unfair to say that there was no benefit.
The benefit was compatibility with all the lightning cables others had years before USB-C. And frankly, considering the s-show called USB, it is reasonable for people to have more confidence in Lightning than the USB standards body.
