When you create automation that updates copyright years to the current year without making changes to the text, you are fraudulently extending your term of copyright. This is not a huge deal, detailed copyright records are incorrect and untrustworthy most of the time, but you should not *knowingly* make fraudulent claims about your copyright terms just on principle.
