Not exactly. It does in the sense that it reduces inflammation. It's anti inflammatory, anti bacterial, antioxidant...works as an expectorant, plus the high mucilage content soothes irritated airways, throat, etc.
For asthma it probably wouldn't do as much, but for respiratory infections, viruses, etc, it works wonders
