Imagine being in the marketing division of a company, and having the branding and recognition of a name like Chromecast for a product that people found revolutionary and invaluable. Everyone knows what your thing does, and they all have great feelings about it. And then you throw all that away, switching to "new" branding tied to a decade-old product line you straight-up botched and had to give up on.
Google engineers real good, but Google markets *real* bad.
