I've been taking Spanish lessons on #Duolingo for 2 weeks as of today. My mother is from Colombia, and her family comes from Spain. She had a terrible immigrant experience and decided not to teach me her native language when I was a baby. Allegedly she thought I'd never need it, but I suspect there were other reasons.

Anyways, I'm enjoying the process. I won Bronze League in my first go. Now, in Silver League, I've got a rival who had been driving me to earn over 11000 XP this week. We've been going back and forth for the Top Position for the last 3 days. I can only imagine everyone else just looking on as we slug it out leaving each other thousands of XP in the dust going "what is WRONG with those two?"
