Published in 2001 Alien Expeditions: Vorox has an entry for an alien gribbly called the 'Shrekma' or 'Shrek' for short. Given that Shrek was released in 2001 I can't tell if this was unfortunate timing or a pop culture reference that got bigger than expected.

(Also given the book is usually selling for about £40 second hand it is something of a dissapointment so far)
