The phone app that my kid's school uses has an extremely elaborate security process to sign him in or out. You scan a QR code, then you check some boxes to say he doesn't have COVID, then you sign your name, then you enter a 4 digit code. You know what the code is because it was displayed a couple screens earlier in the process.
It is extremely unclear what threat all this is protecting against. The real security happens when the teacher doesn't let you take the kid unless they recognize you.
