I had a wonderful day visiting the beach yesterday with some dear friends, and then being there for [part of] another friend's birthday event.

But I think I need to just never return to Los Angeles. I have so many thoughts and considerations, especially about this subculture that my friends are a part of. I feel really raw today after all of the driving and social interactions, and will probably post a more detailed meditation on this later.

For now, though, I am infinitely grateful for this space in the desert to recover.
