On Bisq I can consistently put out offers to buy at market price, and can often find offers to buy at -0.5%, or even sometimes as low as -2% (and IIRC, a cuple of years ago I caught some even lower, like 3 or 5% under).
The issue is being smart enough to understand maker/taker fees, network fees, and so on, and knowing not to do small transactions, because the trade involves several ones even if it's mostly automated.
I keep my total costs below 1%. If a rough estimate tells me it's going to be more, I just don't do take the trade or make the offer to begin with.
