I can understand, and I do, why people choose Twitch over other networks for streaming: building an audience there, even with the huge quantity of streamers already on the platform, is easier than trying to get people into new networks.

It is what it is, and it happens with every single platform.

But I want to give a try and try to get people more into the fediverse, and that implies sacrificing the easy way to build an audience with the network effect.

That's why I'm going to try using PeerTube for this purpose. If, after a few months of streaming, I don't reach an audience, maybe I switch over Twitch. Maybe. I still don't know.
