it’s how I was raised. That was normal for me. Water the livestock, weed the garden, collect the huge, pick the berries, catch and clean the fish, shovel the compost, chop and collect the wood, preserve the food, etc. I am grateful for it. It taught me my place in nature. Most people have no concept of where their food comes from, or how to locate it for themselves outside of a store. Most folks in North America don’t even know the difference between a spruce and a pine in spite of having Christmas trees every year.
