Also, a standard Regency drama would employ a virtually all-white cast,. Very fine minority actors would at best be relegated to minor roles with low status. I'm glad Rhimes has created this alternate reality with roles for black actors, whose careers may now be boosted. (The unintentional discrimination of historical dramas is that they allow only white actors to shine and to move upward.)
