Played the map Via Augustus in #0ad
Me and my friend lost against the AI (Medium difficulty) a few times on this map, and we've been trying to figure out what we're doing wrong. (Neither of us are new to RTS.)
It turns out Slots 3 and 4 (north) are extremely rich in resources while 1 and 2 (south) are poor. We've been taking up Slots 1 and 2 until our previous game.
I started on the northeast corner of the map which was in the middle of the forest and had a lot of metal spots. This spot would be amazing if I was playing a Celtic faction, but I was playing as the Romans and was constantly short on Stone until I built a market to buy stone from.
The map is either unbalanced/skewed or it's meant for team games in that one teammate is poor and the other is rich.
