After 13 days, the shelf elf has been located in its first hiding spot, concealed inside a cardboard star decoration hanging from the ceiling. It isn't easy to hide from 2 teens and an adult.

Next hiding options:
- in a ziploc, buried in the soil of the huge hibiscus tree pot
- stuffed deep within the couch
- immersed inside the aquarium cartridge filter
- taped up under the back of a shelf

other than that, it's pulling up floorboards or drywalling the critter into the walls.
