Well watched the first two episodes (which is really just the first since it's broken up weirdly into 15 minute blocks instead of the normal 30) and it feels like a standard Toku setup. Our protagonist Peng is an Uber driver who by chance catches Guang, Armor Hero Vortex, getting his ass handed to him by a Star Beast. Guang pitches him the belt, and he transforms into titular Armor Hero Star Ray to help bring the Star Beasts back to the light.
Theme song is AI generated so I understand and kinda eh, though the music in general didn't sound bad. Opening episode was largely focused over Guang fighting a Rhino Star Beast and it's fight choreography was okay but the editing was odd since it had strange cuts at times, certainly didn't help that it also went into an odd looking full CG bit after the Star Beast basically activated a Domain Expansion.
The fight scenes in the second episode are much better, but it really has more to do with the cuts being better chosen and more emphasis being placed on the practical part of the fights. We also got a small peak at the third Armor Hero who fought some of the minion enemies elsewhere.
Anyways as far as first impressions go it's watchable, I'm gonna keep tabs on it but with only one episode's worth of content and no real thought of where the plot is going aside from there being a big boss to go kick, I don't have much to say.
