I am worried and shocked, but also curious about wtf happened with these pagers of Hezbollah that exploded simultaneously all over the country a few hours ago.

8 dead and 2500 injured is a lot...

There are claims this was a "cyber breach" and "sabotage", whatever this might mean.

I don't know a lot about electronics and stuff, but how is this even possible?
What can explode? the battery?

Were the pagers already built to be able to explode or can this happen with other devices, too?
