Being born in the early 1980s means being Gen X in essentially every measurable attribute but constantly being lumped in with millennials because the most popular set of date cutoffs was badly done by an old person. This is ironic, since being screwed over by some geriatric stranger with a scrap of arbitrary authority is about the most Gen X thing there is.
